I was born into a family with a strong legacy in cosmetology and barbering. My mother worked in cosmetology for approximately 40 years and owned a beauty school in Puerto Rico, where she also taught. My father was a Master Barber who graduated in New York in 1947 and worked in the profession for 67 years. From an early age, they taught me the value of professionalism, discipline, etiquette, high standards, and love for the beauty industry.

I followed in their footsteps by attending Wilfred Academy in Miami, where I graduated as a cosmetologist. I later studied at Beauty Schools of America and became a Master Barber. These experiences created the foundation for a career that has now lasted more than 40 years.

I spent 10 years working at Homestead Air Force Base, where I gained valuable experience serving a diverse clientele. I later opened and operated my own unisex salon for 10 years. Unfortunately, Hurricane Andrew destroyed my business, but I continued moving forward and spent the next several years working in the private sector.

My career eventually led me into education. At Beauty Schools of America, I was given the opportunity to become a cosmetology instructor, and that is where I discovered my passion for teaching. Since then, I have worked in several beauty schools, helping students develop the skills, confidence, and professionalism needed to succeed in cosmetology and barbering.

Today, I am a Licensed Cosmetologist, Master Barber, and experienced educator. I continue to grow through continuing education, certificates, and professional training. For me, cosmetology and barbering are more than careers—they are part of my family legacy. I am proud to carry that legacy forward by teaching from the heart and helping the next generation of beauty professionals achieve their goals.
