Barry was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Perrine. Both of his parents were also born in Florida. His mother retired from the Miami-Dade County Public School System, and his father worked for the City of Homestead and is a retired Air Force veteran. With roots in Perrine, Florida, and a background shaped by Bahamian heritage, Deep South values, and military service, this instructor brings a powerful story of discipline, leadership, and purpose to the barbering industry. As the middle of five children in a proud military family, he developed resilience, teamwork, and a strong work ethic from an early age. Through youth sports and high school athletics, he learned the value of focus, accountability, and determination—qualities that would guide him throughout his life and career.

At just 18 years old, he began his path of service by joining the United States Army, where he served six years on active duty. He later continued his commitment to serving others in the United States Air Force Reserve for an additional eight years. During his military career, he grew into both a leader and mentor, entrusted with teaching fellow soldiers proper radio communication and later serving as a Sergeant leading a five-man team responsible for aircraft operations in a combat zone. Those experiences strengthened his ability to lead under pressure, inspire others, and perform with excellence.

His journey into barbering began at the age of 13, when his grandfather asked him for a haircut—and insisted that he be the one to do it. What started as a simple family moment sparked a passion that would eventually become his life’s work. After completing his military service, he chose to pursue that passion professionally by attending barber school, earning his Master Barber License, and committing himself fully to the craft.

For the past ten years, he has dedicated himself to barbering, combining precision, discipline, creativity, and professionalism behind the chair. Today, he brings that same passion into the classroom as a mentor, leader, and educator. His mission is not only to teach the technical skills of barbering, but also to shape, inspire, and empower the next generation of barbers with the confidence, discipline, and professionalism needed to build lasting success in the industry.
